Welcome to the 2010-11 School Year!

We welcome your return to our schools and to another exciting new school year!

In just three short weeks the Annual Registration Day will take place at Red Oak High School on August 5 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Choose a time to come and register when it works best for you and your family. This year the registration activity will be conducted in the high school gym which will provide more room, fewer lines, and a more enjoyable experience.

In order to make your Registration Day easier and faster, we have enclosed forms that many of our school parents use to qualify for free and/or reduced priced lunches and reduced prices for registration fees. If you use the forms, complete them in advance prior to registration. You may drop off the completed forms at the Webster Building or mail them to: Red Oak Community School District, 904 Broad Street, Red Oak, Iowa 51566, by August 2. This will definitely speed up your registration process!

At the annual Registration Day all school principals, counselors, and needed resource staff will be present and ready to assist you in a smooth registration process. For those district patrons who plan to access any of the Early Childhood Programs (Kaleidoscope, Right Start, and Head Start), staff members will be available to help. Several community groups will provide information tables during the Registration Day activity.

As you plan for the Registration Day, the complete list of fees that must be paid is attached for your review. Staff members will be present for those who would like to pay online through PaySchool. The Red Oak Board of Directors have determined there will be no increases this year in prices for breakfast, lunch, grade level fees, and activity fees.

The first day of school for all Red Oak students in grades kindergarten through twelve will be Wednesday, August 18.

Inman Primary School: Classes begin at 8:25 a.m. Classes end at 3:15 pm

Washington Intermediate School: Classes begin at 8:25 a.m. Classes end at 3:15 pm

Red Oak Middle School: Classes begin at 8:10 a.m. Classes end at 3:10 pm

Red Oak High School: Classes begin at 8:15 a.m. Classes end at 3:15 pm

Early Childhood Classes:

Red Oak Head Start at the Webster Building: Classes begin on August 19 at 8:00 am each day.

Right Start Pre-School at the Webster Building: Classes begin on August 26 at 8:10 am ending at 3:10 pm each day, no class on Wednesdays.

Kaleidoscope Pre-School at the Webster Building: Classes begin on August 26

AM session: 8:20 – 11:20 am - PM session: 12:20 – 3:20 pm - No class on Wednesdays.

Special Education Pre-School at Inman Primary School: Classes begin on August 26 at 8:25 am ending at 11:15 pm.
