New Policy for Negative Lunch Balances
During the regular board meeting of the Red Oak Community School District on October 24, 2016 the Red Oak Board of Directors agreed to begin a district wide policy addressing negative lunch account balances.
Please review the following as it will mean a change for students’ choices at lunch, if their account is negative.
- Lunch account balances approaching zero: notices will be sent on a weekly basis. Please attend to the balance, and pay in a timely manner so that additional notice or action does not have to be taken. Lunch account balances are run each day in the office.
- Lunch balances at zero: daily reminders will be sent home. Again, please attend to this balance immediately in order to prevent your child’s lunch choices being limited.
- Lunch balances at or greater than $-5.00: children will receive a sack lunch provided by the cafeteria, and will not be able to choose from the lunch line choices. This will occur each day until the lunch balance has been taken care of.
PLEASE NOTE: Sack lunches will begin on Monday, November 7, 2016.
